Professional Issues - Author Guidelines

.

Do you have something that you would like to “get off your chest?” The Professional Issues column is your chance to share your opinion on issues critical to today’s nephrology nursing practice.

Content. Some topic/content examples to stimulate thought include:

  • Nursing and nephrology nursing practice issues such as: the influence of staffing shortages on practice patterns, changing trends in the management of CKD; and today’s work ethic in nursing — has it changed?
  • Clinical issues relevant to nephrology nursing practice in all clinical areas including hemodialysis (acute and chronic), peritoneal dialysis, transplantation, CRRT, apheresis, research, and  CKD management throughout the continuum of care. One controversy affecting all areas of professional practice is the confirmation and documentation of clinical competency.
  • Controversies within the nephrology community.
  • Legislation affecting the nephrology community.
